Moorehall Lodge Ardee

Moorehall Lodge is a very friendly place where we aim to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible. Carol (Person in Charge) & her team offer excellent nursing, convalescent and respite residential care including Suaimhneas which provides specialist dementia care. Moorehall Lodge Adree was opened on the 19th October 1998, growing rapidly from 33 beds to 79 beds in 2010.

  • On the 1st of July 2009 our registration as designated centre transfered from the HSE to HIQA.
  • We are an approved designated centre with the HSE as agreed with the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) for the purpose of the nursing home support scheme Act 2009 (Fair Deal)
  • We are registered with private medical insurance companies including VHI.

At Ardee, we cater for 66 people with varying care needs, including specialist Alzheimer and Dementia care. Our facility offers 24-hour care and support including respite, convalescence and end of life care. On admission, new residents are assessed by our professional and committed team to determine their needs.During 2010 we plan to increase our bed capacity to 79 beds which form 3 individual Households.

A comprehensive care plan is developed in consultation with the resident and family. A resident's progress and well-being are measured against the plan, which is reviewed and updated regularly. We provide social, recreational and religious activities to include visits to restaurants, scenic places and special events.

Over the years we have gained a strong reputation as a leading centre in the North East. We believe we achieved this through the dedication and commitment of our staff and the quality of our care.

Our care approach is built around the principles of home – home is where the heart is, a place where our residents feel valued, respected and involved in decision making in a safe and homely envoronment.

While our facility is fully furnished to a high standard, we actively encourage residents to bring some of their own furniture and other homely items to recreate home. Our Statement of Purpose and Resident Information Booklet will provide more information on Moorehall Lodge, its services and how we are managed.

Finally, to ensure we create an environment of continuing learning, development and best practice, staff undergo programmes of training and education to ensure continuous improvement and high quality care. Registered Nurses are required to maintain and upgrade their scope of practice to meet the complex needs of our residents.
